Dionisio has been living in Las Vegas since 2013, and Carmen since 2015. Carmen was born in Las Vegas but was 2 years old when her parents moved back to Mexico. She lived there for 17 years and returned to Las Vegas at the age of 19 in hopes of a better future. Carmen worked nights so she could attend Clark County School District’s Adult Education program during the day where she became fluent in English and graduated with a GED diploma.
Shortly after moving to Las Vegas, Carmen met her husband, Dionisio and married in 2018. They were advised by doctors that they had infertility issues and wouldn’t be able to have children. Undeterred, they sought a second opinion. After exploring all the medical options, they were blessed with their first son Angel Mateo in 2019. Only two years later they were blessed again with their second son, Eli Matias.
In 2021, Dionisio celebrated a significant milestone by becoming a U.S. Permanent Resident which has opened many new opportunities for him and his family. From the beginning of their Habitat for Humanity journey, Dionisio and Carmen thoroughly dedicated their time and hearts to volunteering on their home build while balancing children, work, and completing 500 hours of sweat equity in the construction of their home. Welcome home Paredes Family, your new journey begins today!
