Daury was born and raised in Honduras with his mother and five siblings. He recalls how hard his mother worked as a single parent to support him and his siblings. She instilled in them from a very young age the value of hard work and education. As a young child, he would find odd jobs to work after school so that he could help contribute to his family. Daury completed college and graduated with his degree in Auto Mechanics. He struggled to find employment despite his degree and began working in an entry level position until he could gain the experience he needed to advance into other opportunities.
Despite the challenges he faced, Daury continued to move forward and not give up on his dreams. In 2016, he made a difficult decision to move to the United States with children in search of opportunities that were not available to him in Honduras. Shortly after relocating, he began working as a truck mechanic at a local transportation company and continues to work there. In his free time, he loves spending time with his family and is actively involved in his church.
Daury heard about Habitat for Humanity Las Vegas through a family member and decided to apply. He always dreamed of owning his own home and providing a safe place to create memories with his family. He is extremely grateful for everything he has in his life today and has committed to continue to work hard to ensure his family has everything they need.
