Since 1998, Lisbeth has called Clark County home. A devoted mother of two boys, ages 19 and 16, and a passionate educator, Lisbeth works as a paraprofessional in a self-contained classroom for adolescent boys, many of whom have special needs. Her care and dedication extend beyond the classroom — she also supports her oldest son in tending to a menagerie of animals, including pygmy goats, a horse, and several dogs, showing that her nurturing spirit touches every corner of her life.
She married in 2007, hoping to build a strong family, but her marriage ended in 2016 despite her best efforts. Throughout these challenges, her father was a constant source of support, helping care for her children. His sudden passing in 2018, however, brought yet another hardship, forcing her to face new challenges while raising her children on her own. Since her divorce, housing has been unstable. She has moved between relatives’ homes, struggling to find rent she could afford or the means to buy a home, which even led her oldest son to move in with his father.
Her hope returned when she learned about Habitat for Humanity from a coworker whose daughter had received a Habitat home. For her, this opportunity is life-changing. A Habitat home represents more than a roof over her family’s heads; it is a foundation for stability, security, and a brighter future. It’s a place where her children can be together again, each with their own space, and where lasting memories can flourish.
Her accomplishments reflect her resilience and determination. She was honored as Employee of the Year at her school, recognized in front of over a thousand people for her dedication to helping others. She has completed a semester of college with the goal of earning a special education teaching license, striving to create a future filled with opportunity for herself and her children.
A Habitat home would allow her to turn those dreams into reality. It would provide security, independence, and a true sense of belonging. For her, homeownership is not just about a house — it’s about hope, stability, and the chance to build a life where her family can thrive together. She is ready to partner with Habitat for Humanity to create a home, a future, and a legacy for generations to come.
